Reunion was August 17, 1905. Reuniting after the Civil War. 51st OVVL organized Oct 3, 1861 under Colonel Fitzgerald (resigned). Colonel Stanley Matthews took over. The 51st came to Ky. in Nov and Feb 1862 moved to Nashville. Took part in legendary battles through the Civil War until mustered out in Texas in Nov. of 1865. Marked: Whitehead and Hoag Co. Newark, NY USA. Ribbon frayed on bottom.
