Pair of Russian Czar Alexander III Gun-metal Rings, mounted as a Gold Fob, 1888

The exterior of each gun-metal band with Russian inscription in block letters, the interiors lined in gold, one inscribed in Cyrillic, Weimarn (sp?) 1885. Each attached to a Russian pre-revolutionary gold rope chain connected to a swivel clasp fitted with a gold-mounted 20 Kopek coin, the reverse inscribed in Russian 1/13 February, 1888. These bands were probably awarded to two officers of a regiment serving under the reign of Tsar Alexander III (1881-94), and mounted as a fob shortly thereafter. Rings may be easily detached from chain and worn separately. The chain stamped St. Petersburg, 56, circa 1880 Ring size of one 11; the other: 8 1/2; length of fob: 4 in. (10.2 cm.)
