RARE WDC Pipe Case Country Store Display
The only pipe case of this quality level we have EVER seen in 40 years in the business. This WDC pipe country store display case has been fully (painstakingly) restored. It was rescued from an early estate in Western MA well over a year ago. This has been fully restored to its fine original form. The case is made of birch and poplar with a cherry color, this has been professionally stripped and refinished. The deep pressed lettering is original and has been retinted in black with gold border. The glass has a reverse painted black and gold border decoration. The original wainscoat backboards were damaged so the wainscoating has been replaced. The base molding was also damaged so it has been redone. The shelving was missing so we designed cherry shelves with holes cut in so the pipes will rest in it. Each shelf will hold 9 pipes and with 5 shelves the case holds 45 total. The molded edge of shelf has been done in gold making a design when door is closed. This is made to hang onto the wall. The approx measurements for the case are 33w, 5d, 57h". The door has an Eastlake style molding cut into it with each corner having a rosette. The WDC stands for William Demuth Company which made high quality pipes in late Victorian era through the 1930's or 40's.
