An excellent rolling star pattern quilt top from the 1880's to the 1900's. It is made mainly of fabrics from the 1880's and 1890's but t are a few pieces that could date as late as the early 1900's. It is completely hand pieced and each block measures 14" with 4" laterals. It is in excellent condition with no fading or wear or stains. The white spot seen in picture #2 is the reflection of the flash off of the mirrowed door of the cabinet from which it was hung to photograph and not a hole or tear in the fabric. T is only block shown in picture #4 that has a deliberate error in it. This goes back to the old belief that only God can make something perfect and t fore women often made one block with a mistake.
