A hand carved polychrome wooden religious statue with glass eyes featuring reticulated shoulders, elbows, and wrists. Found in an unused Catholic Church in rural Philippines, we believe he dates no later than 1950s. Considered a mannequin, because he was clothed when in use, both hands are carved so they can hold an object, perhaps a bird or small animal. The expression in Saint Francis' face is quite peaceful. He has classic features, glass eyes, and a reddish brown skin tone. All paint is original and he measures 26" high. Click for Price @ GoAntiques.com
