A fine Tang dynasty earthenware figure, foreign fighter, ca.618-906. Dimensions 14-5/8" tall, 6" wide, 4" deep. The foriegn fighter, (possibly Dutch), is standing in a fighting posture with hands raised, fist clenched and his chin back. He has a bald crown and wearing the balance of hair long below his shoulders, and having a full beard. His gaze is intense. The figher is made of a grayish pottery and painted with white and green pigments. The pigments are worn though clearly visible in the clothes. The figure has great detail and expression. Unfortunately this fighter was set on its pedestal leaning somewhat little backwards. This caused the accident that led to the injuries seen on the right elbow and lower backbase. If additional images are required, please email me at . These injuries have been museum repaired. The repairs were intentionally left visible for visual accuracy. Overall condition consensus is Fine to Very Fine Condition, with mueum repairs.b5/21 Click for Price @ GoAntiques.com
