This is a nice clean, 19th century heavy duty mortise chisel. It's 1/2" wide x 10.5" long steel & overall is 15" long. It's in very nice condition with an old maker's mark " Mfg. by Union Hardware Co. Torrington Conn." known to be in business in the 1870's. There is some minor dings in scratches, and the socket end is a bit bell mouthed. It's in good+ condition overall. Nice newer hard maple handle with an iron cap ring, fit nicely in place.
