Rare Chinese Warring States silver-inlaid belt hook, ca.475-221B.C. Dimensions are 5-3/8" long and 7/8" tall. This bronze belt hook was made in the form of a snake (with a full belly) with inlaid with an intricate design of round and angular geometric silver textured patterns. Thin strips of silver were cut and inlaid into the bronze belt hook. The hook end of the bronze belt hook was fashioned as a snake head. The snake is an auspicious animal with mystical powers and with the full belly probably signify the wearer's prestige, power and success. The bronze has a wonderful rich green patina over black. The overall condition consensus is extremely fine, excellent condition without any injury or repair.b8/10
