World War II 2 German Nazi Secret Police Badge Concentration Camp
Fantastic authentic World War II German item! This is a 1 7/8" x 1 7/8" square plaque or badge of the German Secret Police. It appears to be made of copper and on one side has "NR 2193" "Buchenwald" "Zentral Inspektion" while on the flip side is a German eagle, swastika in a wreath and "Geheime Staatspolizet" There are also small hard-to-see numbers underneath. There is a drilled hole in the top for hanging. I have been told that this could have been displayed at the Central Inspection area of the Buchenwald concentration camp or it could have been a badge of the Secret Police in the region of Buchenwald. This was purchased at an estate auction of a World War II American veteran, along with many other pins and medals in his collection. All were original and authentic.
