This wonderful mahogany square china closet is richly detailed with elaborate rice carved columns flanking each side of the mullioned double doors. The top band used flame grain or crotch grain wood for an accent. Individual panes of old glass are used in each section- this is not an overlay of fretwork- it's integral to the door. A single key opens the right door, while original brass finger slides both top and bottom hold the left door locked in place. The basic case is hand dovetailed. Three shelves each have plate grooves and are fully adjustable with a good range of options. The mirror back helps reflect both your pieces and the available light. Probably a "Centennial Piece" from the late 1800's. Click for Price @ GoAntiques.com
