I used a 10' section of 3/4" copper piping and with minimal equipment, created a ladder-esque hanging potrack in our kitchen that closely resembles some of $150+ racks I have seen at commerial retailers. Cost me about $20 bucks and an hour on the weekend.

Making your kitchen as efficient and organized as possible will defiantly ease the stress that cooking can cause. A hanging pot rack will create an atmosphere that is totally functional and efficient for preparing your daily meals. Weather if it's a "DIY" project or a manufactured, it'll make your kitchen experiences a great one.

Very nice, I want the galvanized pipe fittings more.I can see it's perfect for my kitchen. But I think I can only hang small and lighter pots there. Where should heavy pots and pans should be stored, any tips?

Great ideas! I love them all. I particularly like the vertical idea as I suffer your dilemma where one thing bumps into another. I also appreciate the DIY solutions. Long live Pot Racks!
