Easy does it. No need to be like that. These ideas are concepts to help you spawn your own creativity. Do you have any ideas you could add?

The previous suggestion reminds me of a variation from the past - inside that coloured glass bottle, one could insert a low watt bulb on a cord that is near but not touching the glass neck... then decorate the outside with tinsel, decorative bangles and a glue gun. A frilly edge look could be achieved by using a garland tacked around the bottom edge. Have Fun and, Hoist the Christmas Cheer when Family Time is here! Ho, Ho, Ho...

I was at the local bazaar on Saturday and saw another neat use for repurposed bottles - this happened to be a Hardy's Brandy bottle. The bottom had been carefully cut off and smoothed. Then what looked like a glass votive candle-holder had been delicately drilled (high speed) in two opposing places. Finally a fine chain with a decorative pendant had been threaded through the holes - this combination was finally run through the neck of the bottle with a another decorative piece appropriately placed on the double chain to act as a stopper so that the candle holder was suspended inside the bottle just short of where the bottom used to be. Before insertion, a new flickering LED type votive candle had been placed in the holder to add light behind the glass of the outer bottle, providing a coloured Christmasy ornament to be hung from a hook inside or out. These could also be useful in a home bar setting.

OK, don't restrict yourself to wine bottles friends, some liquor, liqueur, and brandy bottles can also be used - some of us are sensitive to the use of wine bottles!
BOB, you forgot the essential recycling use for wine bottles - bottling more wine!

Have a great one and enjoy a glass in front of the GAS fireplace.
