Green Roof House in California Is Light and Bright

By Inthralld on May 06, 2013

Feldman Architecture always has something beautifully green up their sleeves– and this time it is their lovely 2 Bar Home in Menlo Park, California. An open plan for this home was of importance along with the green elements of a new and functional space.

The overall structure of this house is based on perpendicular bars that allow natural light to flood in to all areas of the space, without your average box based home design anywhere in sight. This L shaped space gives way to more yard space, and even the upper green roof of one bar allows for some additional planting. Light and privacy are controlled at the front of the house with operable slates and sustainable materials were utilized wherever possible.
