Easy DIY: Vintage Bird Print Gallery Wall

By Quirky Cool... on Dec 22, 2013

Hey All! I know it's been about 2 months since my last post. I would just like to say that it's been a very busy and emotional few months. A break from the social world was needed. Did I also mention that my computer crashed???? Well my genius husband fixed it and it's up and running like a gem. For the last few months I have been working on getting our new home "together" I still have a long way to go but I did manage after lots of trial and error to finally decide on paint colors for the upstairs. I painted it all but had to stop before finishing for all the crazy busy stuff that came up these last few months. I can't wait to show you all the colors I chose, the inspiration and the work I did when it's all done! I think you will be surprised at the colors I went with, especially the entryway and focal wall! Until then, I would like to share with you a quick, affordable and may I say beautiful DIY gallery wall I came up with for my main wall in my living room. Check it out below...

I love books, I especially love old books with vintage prints. My family and I took a trip to our local flea market and I headed straight for the books. I picked up a variety of bird and butterfly vintage print books. I was hoping to find some vintage botanical books with prints but I wasn't lucky. However, I'm still on the hunt! I love birds, I love flowers, and I love anything to do with nature when it comes to paintings, and pictures, and art, so I figured what a great way and affordable way to display a beautiful book of art on a wall.

The vintage bird and insect books I picked up. I scored all 4 for less than 20 bucks.

I picked up some white frames with white matting from Michaels. They were on sale for 6 bucks a piece. Because I knew I wanted to do a gallery wall I picked up 4 one week and then decided I needed more and picked up 4 more the following week. I simply marked my favorite pictures, cut them with a razor and framed them. It was that easy! You can even get the smaller frames for smaller prints. Such a great way to display art from a book (if you don't mind cutting pages out).

I even scored these two task lamps for 15 bucks at Ross! I have been wanting a few for so long but couldn't bring myself to spend the money on them. They can be pricey!
