Impressive Colorado Home Makes Sustainability Look Good
By Freshome.com on Apr 23, 2013
Sustainability started to become a major conversation in the architecture world. A home has to be both energy efficient and constructed with eco-friendly materials in order to give you that “green state of mind”. The Green Cube Show Home, developed by the Scandinavian designer, Heidi Mendoza, is one such home. Located in Denver, Colorado, this home combines different lifestyles with an eco-friendly design in order to obtain a tailor-made, truly modern home.
The structure is comprised of a cube, showcasing both dramatic color and volume. The staircase that connects the floors is made of glass and steel, allowing transparency. At the end of the staircase, a beautiful terrace welcomes you with a delightful view of the city’s skyline. The Green Cube got the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum certificate.
