Lake Drive House Addition
By Freshome.com - Interior Design & Architecture Magazine on Feb 07, 2012
Lake Drive House Addition was envisioned and implemented by Martin Holub Architects and consist of a 600 square feet addition to an existing house located in Rhinebeck, New York.. The new project (found on Architizer) accommodates a meeting room, a laundry room, a bathroom, a generous hot tub and a lounge area connected to an outdoor patio. According to the architects, the owner hoped that the new building would be “an integral part of the house, rather than an obvious slap on. He also hoped that the addition would significantly enhance the design standard of the house“. The glass enclosed addition is the result of a minimalist architecture approach. The materials used- glass, concrete, stone and western red cedar- contribute to a modern looking construction that can host a variety of activities. What is your personal opinion concerning the overall design of this home addition?
