The Incredible French House Built Like a Small Town
By Inthralld on May 28, 2013
German-born Architect Christian Pottgiesser creates so many wondrous architectural forms, that it’s almost no surprise this amazing home (or homes, rather) is so forward-thinking. With the 18th century idea that homes should have ‘realm’ size buildings for each family member, that’s just what was created.
With the overall square footage of the French home being just under 10,000, the design had some technicalities and laws to abide by. The towers each have their own large bedroom with a dressing space, bathroom, and storage area. Multiple stories resist taking over the huge lot filled with old trees. Each built tower is connected via a large, dark understructure that has skylights punched out to allow for natural light to flood in at all hours of the day.
