Pasture Project by Imbue Design

A home that’s way up in the frigid Mt. Olympus climate is one that’s got to withstand a whole lot. Imbue Design was the firm behind the master planning of this Salt Lake home, which was designed, not only around the family’s way of living, but also around a life without air conditioning.
In planning a home without this common luxury, the orientation on the site, as well as the placement of windows and doors (not to mention their operation), all had to be strategic.
Floor-to-ceiling windows and cross-ventilation are a huge part of air circulation in the space, but the plan is also a great part of the successful design. A large open plan, concrete flooring, and voluminous ceilings are all an integral part of the space.
