Sign Inspiration For My Next Project

Now that we've got both the baby and The Fixer Upper under control (I say that with a smirk)(like either of them will ever be under control, haha), it's time for this girl to start working on some much-needed projects around the house.
When I say much-needed projects, I don't mean folding and putting away the five loads of clean laundry that are sitting in the basement, painting the stair treads that still have stain on them from when we got the floors refinished last Christmas, or fertilizing the lawn with the bag of fertilizer that has been sitting in our driveway for two weeks.
All of a sudden it has become imperative that I make an old sign for above our kitchen window. I've wanted to make one forever you know. F-o-r-e-v-e-r.
Since all of "my" projects seem to need Alex's help (to his dismay) I'm pretty sure I can tackle this one on my own during a few of the baby's naps. HE'S NAPPING LONG ENOUGH FOR ME TO DO STUFF, YO! Well, sort of.
Here is a picture of our kitchen window that needs a little somethin' somethin'. We already replaced the flourescent light with a pendant light, but I'm still looking for some sort of window treatment, and of course some kind of DIY old signage would be nice above the window, too.
I knew I wanted either a "grocery" sign or a "bakery" sign. Judging by the fact that I've baked chewy chocolate chip cookies (twice), salted peanut butter cups (twice), and old-fashioned chocolate cake all within the last two weeks, I'm leaning toward the "bakery" sign.
Of course I browsed Pinterest for some inspiration. Some of my favourite places (Country Living and Sarah Richardson design) had some cute signs.

Other super-cool bloggers have made their own versions of grocery / bakery signs, too. I rounded up a few pictures for some DIY blogger inspiration:

Left: The Old Painted Cottage
Top Right: Lovely Etc.
Bottom Right: AKA Design

Top: Restoration House
Middle: A Little Something in the Meantime
Bottom: Funky Junk Interiors

I've got the wood, I've got the stain, I've got the paint, I've got the foam brushes, now all I need is some DIY mojo to get me started.
P.S. Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who takes the time to either email me or to leave a comment. I've been trying to sneak in some replies to your comments here and there but I can never reply to as many as I would like. Just know that I appreciate them very much and they always make my day!
