Training Bougainvillea Along a Railing
By Stay at Home-ista on Jun 18, 2012
Today, I've finally succumbed to my friend Kerry's house stalking so I'm guest posting on her site, House TalkN today. Stop on by, I might even offer you a glass of wine for your troubles!
Those new bougainvillea plants were just a little too stuck-up for our liking. So one morning my wonderful husband snipped the ties that held the vines to their stakes, and he "trained" them to the sides.
We ordered floral ties off of Amazon and just loosely tied the vines (branches?) to our deck railing.
He wove them in and out of the railings a bit, hoping to buffer them from the wind and anchor them enough to the house that they stay there for more than one season, fingers crossed!
