I need to repaint my roof that has been painted with aluminum paint almost 8 years ago over 100 year old tin shingles. Can this be primed and repainted with a different paint? I really would like another color besides aluminum. I thought perhaps an oxide primer would work, but I've gotten different opinions about covering the aluminum - something about "not adhering". The roof has been powerwashed and is ready. My question is...Does any know really know if aluminum can be painted with something else (preferably a red color) or am I stuck having to repaint it with aluminum paint which does not fit into my color scheme. thanks...need an answer asap.
