Hi,

My house has the stone coated Gerard Metal roof with tile profile. However, after 5+ years, I have noticed discoloration of roof on my garage, right under the water spout from the level above.

When contacted, Gerard indicates that my gutters were rusted by the oils from my earlier shake roof, and now the rust from the gutters from 2nd level is coming down the spout on settling on 1s level roof material.

Gerard neither its authorized/trained contractor has ever documented this or alerted the home-owner. Rather than honoring the warranty, Gerard is now indicatinting that this is due to improper installation and maintenance. I have sent Gerard picture of 7+ houses, with exactly same water spout arrangement and gutter, all of them either have a slate or tile roof with no discoloration problem.

Wondering if anybody can offer me suggestions.
