At what length should the stopper be for the bathtub drain,i do not have the old one.

It's trial and error. If it's too low it won't drain fast enough. If it's too high then it won't hold water.

it all depends on what kind of tub you have and how your bathroom was built and set up.

their is not an exact length. it's just one of those things your going to have to judge yourself.

Yeah you need to use own thing to buy bathtub according to your need and bathroom size.
