Dear Bob,
I have a bay window that needs some type of insulating on the underside. In the cold winters of Minnesota I get frost on the window ledge and it is very cold to sit by. Every winter I put plastic film up on the window but that doesn’t seem to keep the cold out. What can I do? Thanks so much!

Who put that window in like that! It is installed improperly. The whole thing needs to be ripped out.

Can you tell me why you think this is installed wrong? What would I have to do to get this installed correctly if I ripped the window out?

The window has no support from below. At the very least the base should have been cantilevered out then you automatically would have places for insulation below the window. I expect the unit will began to sag,but I hope I'm wrong. How long has this been in place like that.

The window is about 7 years old.
