How hard is it to install vinyl siding on a cinderblock house? Would I need to attach wood strips to the block and mount the siding to that or can the siding be put directly on the house?

If anyone has instructions on how to install siding, it would be appreciated. I have someone who has installed vinyl siding before to help me, but has never done it on a block house.
