I am having my roof done and have been told by some contractors that we need to redeck our cedar shake. However, I just had a contractor today say that it is unecesary as the gaps are less than 4 inches and that the others were just trying to increase costs. I want to do what needs to be done but don't want to be taken advantage of. Any advice?
