I have a GE Profile Washer (model WPXH21A0WW) that has totally threw me for a loop. During a wash, I heard an extremley loud noise from the washer and then it went out of control from there. I took the back off of it and notice a large piece of shell casing for the tub was missing. I took it fully apart and notice that the spin tub structure (metal) has disintegrated and has broken off. The unit is only 10 years old...I just had to share this bizzare story. $1,000 in parts is way too expensive - BYE BYE PROFILE :-(

Wow, that's crazy. Especially it being a GE profile. 1,000 in parts? Oh my...that is a nightmare.

So did you end up getting a whole new washer or just replacing all that?
