Our experience with Windsor Windows has been awful. We purchased new when we built our house. Within two years we had issues with the windows bowing and warping. The window supply store said that the 25 year warranty was no good. Said that they were installed incorrectly that the contractor used the wrong nails. We used the nails the salesman recommended. He then said they were painted to dark of a color. They were painted a light tan color. Bottom line they had wind blowing into the house. He gave us some foam insullation to put around the edge unter the plastic trim. This made it impossible to open the window because it was so tight. It still leaked air. Now 5 years after the original installation water pours in around the glass where it meets the frame when it rains. Avoid Windsor windows at all Cost. It is not a reputable company or window.

I have windsor windows I have not had this problem with them. The problem I have is with the windows is springs in the jam liners failing and they did not stand behind there jam liners.
My windows are 11 years old and four sets of liners have failed. they are east to replace but they forgot to send the new pins with the liners and needed a few calls to get it right.

We apologize that you experienced problems with the springs in the jambliners. We regret that it took multiple attempts to get you the parts that you needed. In recent years, our jambliner supplier modified the design. As a result of this design change, the jambliner now requires pins to be changed to accommodate a jambliner clutch shoe mechanism.
I'm sorry for the difficulty you've encountered with your windows. We recommend that you first contact the distributor who sold your windows. As our distributor, they are authorized and responsible for providing service on our products.
If the distributor is unable to resolve your concerns, you may contact us directly through your website: www.windsorwindows.com. We certainly want to provide you with the information and support that you need.
On our website, you will find Product Warranties and Care & Use Guides. The warranties clearly outlines that we stand behind our products. The Care & Use Guide indicates how our products should be cared for and provides recommendations for their use. If these guidelines have been followed and the product has failed, there are instructions on how to submit a warranty claim. We require the homeowner’s name and address, a phone number, and the glass code from the product.
Regarding your particular situation… Our Warranty and Care & Use Guide states: For exterior paint applications, Windsor does not recommend the application of paints with an LRV rating of 54 or lower. For darker paint colors with an LRV rating of 54 or lower, you must use a product that has been specifically developed for PVC and follow the paint manufacturer's instructions. Windsor is not liable for paint used on our Legend windows or the result of its use.
Unfortunately, when darker shades of paint are used on CPVC, sunlight is absorbed. These high temperatures soften this material which may result in bowing. This is not a defect in the construction of the window. It is a property of the CPVC material. Because of this reaction, we cannot accept liability for product failure if the window has been painted.

I will back Michael123 on these windows leaking and having water coming in, my house is 1 year 3 months old, i have had the distributors, the reps and tech from Windsor Windows and my builder out to my house and I got nowhere with Windsor Windows on my problems they will leave you out to hang and care less about you the consumer, I am currently getting estimates for all new windows and a patio door which is also Windsor Windows, and as I am writing this and the cold weather settling in I now have a busted sash, looks like the springs that help the ease of the window sliding up and down has busted the side of the sash, great, just f'n great, I strongly urge anybody out there not to buy these windows you will thank me later.
I would like to complain about the Windsor Windows I have in my home...they are all leaking air that then causes water to freeze both in the openings and in the frames them self. I have called the company to no avail they told me this is condensation from humidity in the house...that is not true...I get the humidity on the glass panes but not on the wood...they don't own the fact they are not made in a quality manner and don't stand behind their product at all...this is a newer home these windows are 10 years old and have been an issue the entire two years I have lived here...they are leaking air, freezing locks and frames...I have had other windows and never have I experienced what I am seeing consistently. What is so unbelievable that the company takes no ownership for the quality of what they say has 25 years covered...I will continue to search for someone who will help to resolve this issue...I would tell everyone to stay away from this company they are not upstanding...they will not call back when you leave messages and it could be they are dealing with so many complaints they can't get back to anyone and choose to not get back to anyone at anytime.
I was about to buy a newer house with Windsor Windows. I am going back in 2 days for a second walk thru. Any suggestions on what to look for would be appriated.
We are in the initial process of building a house. My plan calls for Windsor Windows, but after reading the above I may go with a second opinion.
worst windows i have ever come across, persitent leaks, cold air drafts and a complete run around from the company and the distributor.i highly recommend to any one building or renovating to not even consider using any of there products
It would be nice if all these brave souls with complaints would also tell us the series/model of their windows. For example, if you have Windsor vinyl there is no way they are rotting. If you have Windsor pinnacle Clad why would you paint them?
You need to be fair to Windsor as well as dealers that sell them. If a window is sold for the correct application and installed correctly there are rarely the kind of problems you are all describing.
