Hi again,
I am wondering if all laminate products are equal. We recently had our countertops redone and the contractor used a company that makes the countertops with Wilsonart laminate. My understanding is that all laminate products are prety much the same in terms of quality and that Wilsonart is a good company. But I have noticed that our new countertop scratches much easier than any other countertops I've had in the past that are laminate.
Anyone know why?
Thanks,

As far as I am concern the laminate products are of same type but they come in different varieties. There are various kind of laminate products are available in the market like: hard wood, oak and fiberboard laminate.
Well not everything is going to be the EXACT same. Even laminate. With stuff like that you just have to go with higher quality.
I found when re-doing my kitchen countertops that you don't necessarily pay for "stronger" laminate, but more intricate designs. Decide what you want it to look like first, then find a few brands that match. Many local countertop companies have displays put out and it does not hurt to go drive by and pay them a visit if you have the time.
