A neighbor is having a rubber roof installed. For some reason they did not finish it around Thanksgiving , I understand in part due to not having the metal pieces/fasteners to cover the edges ?!?!?!? Now today December 6th { here in Chicagoland } they are completing it ! Some of the workers had to shovel off what little Snow was up there plus the Temp is around the freezing point with temps to go into the teen and/or single digits for the next 24 hours. The past week has also been averging in the low 20's to teens at night. Is there a proper time [ of year] to apply a rubber roof ? The neighbor has a somewhat low pitched roof and the roofer told him that he would not install an asphalt shingle roof again on the homes around here..The neighbor had a leak due to improper installation of leaf guard gutters: but the asphalt shingle to my eyes was in very good shape and don't think they really needed to be replaced.let alone a new rubber roof ; which cost around $ 12,000 [ for a small to moderately sized roof !
