Or if you are looking for the easiest way to make it look interesting without the hard work, and the annoyance of working in an apartment room, then you could put some table linen on it.

Will it fix the finish on the dresser? No.
Will it fix the problem of it looking dodgy? Yes

So maybe I am like Adam Sandler in Big Daddy, whenever there is a mess, I just put something on it to cover it. At least I didn't suggest putting newspaper on it. :)

Yes, your furniture seems really complex and wrecked. I think you should have services from home refurbishments companies.
