Improperly acid stained concrete patio
2 yrs ago a contractor acid stained my 12 yr old concrete patio. It was a disaster (some spots the stain did not take at all). He did not seal it because it did not turn out well - he gave me my money back and told me to paint it. After researching, I now know that he did not prep it correctly - just power washed it - did not clean with a degreaser, etc. At this point I just want to paint it. Can I paint over this unsealed stain? If so, what do I need to do (prep, etc.)? Do you have recommendations on type of concrete paint to use - one that will last as heavy patio furniture will be dragged across floor? As an aside I tried to power wash it recently and some of the stain actually came right off. Other areas are still very dark and will not come off. Thanks so much for any help you can provide. Gail
Have you looked at what types of epoxy floors you can put over it? I am not to well versed in the technical jargon but I know that I like the way the look. There might be a style out there that looks like a concrete stain too.
