My wife and I are curious about the type of roofs shown in the Thomas Kincade "cottage" paintings. As best as I can describe it, the edge of the roof has a radius. The material used appears to be regular roofing material. Are these types of roofs expensive to build?

Any help is appreciated.

Thank You

Most roofers will call it a Hut style, but out hear in Boston we call them New York style, cuz you`ll find them in NY.

That particular style keeps the water from running directly down the wall. In this case ,..the stone....

The carpentry will vary between bids or expertise, but you can control the other half of the cost, that being the material used wich their are many choices.

My choice for that example.......Thatch !!
