Hello,

I had a my new lawn hydroseeded this spring. The guy came back this fall to touch up some areas that didn't take. I asked him about some black areas of the lawn. He said it was a fungus from overwatering. There is grass growing there now, though it is patchy. He said it should recover next spring. He didn't know the name of the disease.

Has anyone had experience with this? I'm just wondering if I need to apply a special fertilizer or something either yet this fall or in the spring. I'm going to use Scotts Winterizer near the end of October (I live in the Buffalo, NY area). Is there anything else I should do? Thanks.
