Hello!

I have a wet basement & stone foundation (100+ yrs). I was told I need oversized downspouts and that they'll need to cut back my roof for the install. We certainly need gutters, but I don't want them to get clogged up in the winter.

The snow that slides off the roof wouldn't ever hit anyone (no walkways, etc), but that is how snow fences are marketed. I am wondering about whether if these fences would help prevent my new gutters from filling with water and freezing or if I should look for a better solution.
