I have a GE GSS25SGMC refrigerator in a rental house. The tenant is complaining that the ice maker makes ice, but it doesn't drop into the tray. I'm being quoted $450 to replace the entire ice maker and the evaporator coil. Does this sound like an evaporator coil issue? Is replacing the entire ice maker over kill? The refrigerator is about 10 years old but I think it's a pretty high end refrigerator and my property manager is just recommending that I replace the entire refrig with a used one for $600....any advice would be very much appreciated!
