We're thinking about turning one of our attic bedrooms into a bathroom/closet. Unfortunately the best location is not immediately above the downstairs bath. How much more expensive would this make such a project (i.e., how much could we save by putting it over the other bath?)?

Dear Notdot,
There are so many factors relating to your problem. First, how many levels does your home contain? Second, to place one bathroom over another, you would have to all but tear out the existing bathroom, depending on the whereabouts of the existing plumbing. Third, what's below your optional areas. Fourth, do you have a slab/basement/crawl space? Do you see where I'm going? Contact a local renovation expert. In hopes of getting the job, he will give you all kinds of options and on hand knowledge. If I were able to physically "see" your home, I could be of more help.
Good Luck,
Len
