Does anyone know anything about the downspout kit as shown on www.waterproof.com/downspouts/ I'm getting gutters installed and wondered the pros and cons of such a system. Do they get brittle over time and break? Do they let enough water get in? etc. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi devildog,

Well, no, to answer your question specifically. The question I have for you is - What are you trying to accomplish?

Have you explored other PROVEN solutions? As the advertisement even says, you need to slope your landscaping AWAY from the foundation. You need gutters that don't leak, gutters that are installed where there should be gutters, downspout extensions that take water AT LEAST 3' away from the foundation, and so on. Sooo, if you do this, do you still have a 'problem'?

Just food for thought. My best to ya and hope this helps.

I do have a problem in my crawlspace which I am correcting with guuters and slope away from the house. My objective with the underground downspouts is to keep from mowing around them and keep my 2 yr old daughter from using the downspout as a trampoline or balancing bar. Thanks for your concern though!
