Can I just paint the floor with DryLock flooring paint, add a sheet of 6mil plastic as a vapor barrier and throw down a carpet pad and carpeting (even if it has to be indoor/outdoor carpeting?)
Or am I really asking for trouble later on with this scenario?
That said, the warning might be there to merely cover their butts in case someone does use it for floor paint, or there could be something to it. The worst I could envision happening is that it could chip off and become some sort of inert powdery layer underneath the moisture barrier (it is a moisture barrier on the floor, not a vapor barrier), which, in turn, is under the padding, which is under the carpet.
