Basement = unfinished, except the perimeter is framed with unfaced insulation installed.
I'm finishing it now. I had to remove insulation for electrical/plumbing, then replace it. It doesn't fit as good as it does when it's new and it is not being held in place by friction with the studs: most of the existing insulation is now contacting the drylocked concrete exterior walls. There is a .5" gap between the studs and concrete, but the insulation negates that.
Is that bad? I didn't plan on replacing the existing insulation.
If so, what brand/type/R value do you recommend? (budget and ease of installation is a big concern!)
Thanks in advance!
