Not long ago I read an article about a couple using wooden blocks to create a floor in their home.(Wish I could remember where I read that!)I also read where long ago, some roads were made from large wooden blocks. We are considering using wooden blocks as patio pavers. We've considered using cedar or oak for durability. Has anyone out there ever heard of using wooden blocks as patio pavers? Any comments?

Not very practical! Wood would be at the end of my list as far as something to put on the ground in that sort of setting. Untreated lumber is begging to rot, decay, and be subject to insect infestation when put into a ground contact scenario. Any kind of lumber, whether treated or untreated, swells, shrinks, and cracks over its normal lifespan, and requires yearly maintenance.

I'd shelve that idea quickly.
