I've got burnt patches from overly applying summerguard and bare patches from weeds that I yanked out recently. I live in NY and the weather has been quite warm. I like to repair my lawn but I'm not sure if I should reseed+fertilize in warm weather? because I read somewhere that the best time to reseed is in early fall, but I'm also afraid if I leave these patches alone clover/other weeds will sprout again... any ideas? thanks

The best time is the fall for a number of reasons. But that does not preclude the summer as an opportunity to reseed. The summertime will, of course, require you to be much more vigilant in watching and watering the new grass.
