I live in Daly City, California., and the problem that the backyard is getting yellow because I cut the grass too short I guess..but what I could do to return it green.

i still dont know what type of turf or if you are coastal, desert, or in the north or the south. it could be grubs eating the roots, or lack of moisture, or a disease problem. try raising the height of cut a little, and make sure the soil us moist. if it does not perk up in 3-5 days you most likely have a disease, an isect, or a fertility issue or a combination.
