I recently saw a home show where they were finishing a basement. On the outside walls they put in the insulation and then nailed a strip of pretty good size bags of silicate in the opening (about five or six bags to a strip) before putting up the drywall. They said this would help absorb moisture from the outside walls. Does anyone know where to purchase this product? And is it a sound idea?

Thanks,

Jacy

Those silicate bags are expensive. You are beeter off treating you foundation with Hydro-Blok. It is a much better, permanent solution. Email me with any questions. kingvolcano@aol.com
