HELP
My daughter just bought new home about 7 months ago. The basement/downstairs rooms {the house is like a slit level} There is a family room and another room {play room} and a full bathroom. The sub pump is in a room that is like closet/storage room. There has been trouble with the floater sticking at the top. My ? is should a sub pump be put in a living area or should it be like in the garage or separate room away from family living areas. What happened is the sub pump keeps messing up and my husband fixes the floater. Last night the the whole downstairs area flooded with raw sewage.

At first I thought you were talking about a sump pump (for stormwater). You are actually talking about a sewage pump for a house built below sewer grade. Either that or you have an improper sump connection. The pump ejector line should pass through a valve that prevents backflow. Also, the pump level actuator needs to be working properly. Would you be offended if I suggested that its time for a pro? This is a health hazard, and overflows are going to result in costly cleanups. Sometimes, ya just gotta know your limitations.

Thank you , yes you are correct and the builder is responsible for fexing it or replacing is and cleanup. He is on his way over now but doesn't feel he needs to cleanup and replace the carpet. So the realitor that sold her the house refered her to a lawyer. We will just have to see. And yes we are bleaching the garage and floor after carpet is pulled up today. Thanks again.
