I am looking to buy a house that has low ceilings. They measure 6 3/4 on the top level. The roof is not flat and I thought I might be able to knock the ceilings out and re-do them in the shape of the roof (which comes to a point at the top, getting some height.
Can roofers do that sort of transformation? I have not been able to find anything online.
Thanks!

- Can an old ceiling (2nd floor) be structurally heigtened?
You would need a qualified framing contractor or engineer to asses this. The cieling is very likely also a strctural component of the roof and walls of the house, preventing the walls from spreading and the roof from sagging. Moving it would significantly impact its strength
