I have an old home - 75years. The basement walls are stone. We had the walls re-parged. I also used DryLock on the walls.

My basement is 50% above grade, with windows in the above grade portion. My basement gets very humid, but we NEVER get water on the floor or leaks anywhere.

What is the best way for me to keep the humidity level down. I want to make sure I do Not need a french drain before I finish the basement.

You can use a dehumidifier or have a Humidex unit installed. Both work well, but work on different principles. I have installed many Humidex units with success.

In your last remark you make a statement about a French Drain. A French Drain is used for ground water issues. I'm not sure how to comment.
