Bvbasement
We recently remodeled our basement (after Everdry Waterproofing) into a family rec room. the walls were studded & drywalled, carpet laid, etc. The ceiling is unfinished.expose joists. I do not want a dropped ceiling and would prefer not to drywall again. What are other options?

I do not have a suggestion for a ceiling other than a drop ceiling. I have a finished basement and in the summer have issues with pipes sweating and dripping a bit. The pipes are 90% wrapped and still sweat. I chose a drop ceiling to allow access to my pipes and electricity.

Another matter is air quality. Typically, basements have poor air quality and if you want to use it as a living area, you may want to install a Humidex unit or something like it to introduce fresh air into the basement. I would strongly suggest against a home gym in the basement unless you address the air quality issues.
