I own a house built approximately in 1920 with a gambrel roof. It has vermiculite between the attic floor joists and in some of the walls. I don't want to disturb the vermiculite because of the asbestos concerns.
However, I would like to add insulation in the attic. Should I use fiberglass? What R value (the house is in Missouri)? Should it have a kraft-paper on one side? Should it run perpendicular to the joists?
