Is it required or recommended to insulate bedroom floors. This is an old house we are curently remodeling. So I wanted to know before we put down new floors. These are the seconf floor bedrooms not directly over the basement.

Insulating bedroom floors can be counterproductive to keeping them warm.
Second story rooms are kept warm by keat radiating up thru the uninsulated floors from below.
Installing insulation between floors will actually make rooms colder although it can help with some sound transmission.
Long and short: don't do it.
